A Week With Big Bass Bonanza

A Week With Big Bass Bonanza

August 12, 2026 · Marek Dvořák

I'll admit I was sceptical about Big Bass Bonanza. Casual games like this usually get a quick look and a polite two paragraphs. Instead it stuck around on my home screen for a full week, and that's why it earned a proper write-up.

The appeal is in how little it asks of you. You open it, tap through a couple of quick rounds, and close it again — no menus to fight, no timers guilt-tripping you back. The fishing theme is done with a real sense of humour, all bright water and cartoon bass with far too much personality.

What kept me coming back was the animation feedback. Every round has a small payoff on screen, and the sound design is dialled in just right. It's the kind of tactile polish you don't always expect from a game this light.

If you want a big challenge, look elsewhere — this isn't that. But as a five-minute reset between tasks, Big Bass Bonanza does its job better than most. I still open it while the kettle boils.

My tip: don't try to play it in long sessions. It's a snack, not a meal, and it's far better for it.
