Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG I didn't expect to find on a phone. You build a party of four, each with their own past, and the writing takes real risks — one companion's arc genuinely got to me. Combat is turn-based with a timing element, so tapping at the right moment during an attack rewards you with extra damage.

The class system is generous. You can respec whenever you want, which meant I actually experimented instead of locking into one build and hoping. Fights scale well, and the boss encounters ask you to think rather than just grind.

There's a fair bit to read, so it's not one for a distracted commute. Sit down with it properly and it'll eat a whole evening. That's a compliment.
