About

Onyx Play started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots of odd little mobile games nobody else was talking about. At some point the chat got too big to hold everything, so we turned it into a proper site. Everything you read here is written by people who actually finished (or got hopelessly stuck in) the games.,We don't chase the charts. A game earns a spot in our catalogue when someone on the team plays it enough to have a real opinion, not just an install and a shrug. That usually means a few evenings, sometimes a whole weekend if it grabs us.,Genre doesn't matter to us. We'll happily jump from a slow farming sim to a twitchy racer to a story-heavy RPG in the same week. What we care about is whether a game respects your time and does something a little bit its own.,There's no big publisher behind this. It's a small crew, a shared spreadsheet, and a lot of arguments about ratings. If you disagree with a score, good — write to us, we love that.
